Conclusion

Summary

This project demonstrates that computational methods can significantly expand the scope of cultural analysis by making large-scale patterns visible without sacrificing interpretive depth. Rather than replacing traditional humanities approaches, these methods provide new tools for engaging with complex archives in a systematic and scalable manner.

Through the combined analysis of authorship, thematic structure, and everyday language, the study reveals multiple layers of transformation embedded within City Entertainment Magazine. These findings suggest that the magazine functions not only as a record of media history, but also as a structured reflection of Hong Kong’s evolving cultural identity.

In this sense, the project underscores the value of digital humanities as a framework for bridging data-driven analysis with critical interpretation, opening new possibilities for the study of cultural history.
