Summary

Academia vs. Reality

Traditional academic research prioritises acute, life threatening issues like cytokine storms. The medical community uniformly assesses patient experiences using structured questionnaires like the QLQ C30. Our NLP analysis reveals massive blind spots in these standardised scales. Patients express far more negative emotions about side effects that persist over time. They worry heavily about hot flashes, joint pain, and family guilt stemming from genetic risks.

Based on these findings, we propose three clinical adjustments. Doctors must proactively ask patients about sleep, diet, and body image anxiety during follow up visits. Second, clinics should mandate psychological intervention alongside genetic testing reports. This helps patients process fate related information and avoids unnecessary psychological burdens. Finally, healthcare systems need to establish long term community support for patients on chronic medications like tamoxifen.

Medicine cures the disease. Life heals the patient.
