Conclusion
This project demonstrates how archival materials, bibliographic databases, and geographic visualisation can be combined to reconstruct a layered intellectual history. By moving from correspondence to coauthorship and then beyond both into photo co-mention and spatial storytelling, the project recovers a richer account of C. N. Yang’s transpacific academic world. Its main contribution is not only the reconstruction of one scholar’s network, but also a methodology for studying how scientific, institutional, and personal ties intersect across long historical time.
