Video: Documentary on SARS in Hong Kong
The outbreak of the SARS pandemic in 2003 began when a mainlander carrying the coronavirus arrived to Hong Kong. As SARS held a high death rate in the city, both the government and society advocated measures on tackling the disease. So, we were determined to ask a few questions about this event: What were the effects, both short term and long term, brought by SARS? How do they shape our present life?
In this documentary, Dr. FOK Yeung Yeung, Assistant Lecturer of the Department of History of CUHK, and Professor Gary LUK Chi Hung, Assistant Professor of the Department of History of CUHK, will recall their memories on how they lived under the pandemic, and discuss the aftermaths brought by it.
